ONE LIGHT AT A TIME – Dana Agnellini

With the continual barrage of CD’s I receive for reviews and submissions, I barely have the time to listen once through to the majority of them. So it is rare for me when I find a collection of songs that I enjoy listening to over and over again. I don’t know if it’s the clean, simple, pop/rock production, or the catchy melodies with heartfelt, positive lyrics but I know I can always count on Dana’s CD to lift me up, make me smile and make me think.

The title cut is an anthem for peace, an empowerment for the individual and a social commentary on the insanity of violence. One of my favorites is a personal thank you to God for accepting me just the way I am – “You Know Everything”.

It’s hard to believe this is Dana’s first effort. I will be one of the first in line for his next project!

The CD is very cool, it almost sounds like I'm listening to Jackson Browne at times. I was most impressed with Dana's voice.

Dana’s music is really dynamic, driving in a positive sense while remaining hard hitting socially and consciously. What a great collective message. I agree with my husband Mark Torgeson, his
singing voice has an open expressiveness, and clarity, that really reveals the tenderness of his inner voice. Congratulations!

Dana, is a fresh new voice for spiritualy uplifting music, You find yourself singing along with the CD and wanting to get up and move even if you are in the car. The messages are heartwarming and the arrangements are divine.

It is rare that I listen to music at all. Being a musician, singer, songwriter, recording artist, myself, I always have my own music that happens within my own being. Your songs are food for my soul. I love the lyrics, the melody, the rhythm and, most of all, I Love You. It is the energy of Love that I feel in your music and which, so beautifully, flows from your being.

The music and messages on this cd are a doorway to one of those experiences you just cannot put words to. It is as if Dana looked directly into your Soul. If one (or more or all) of these songs does not touch you a personal way then you need to check your pulse...you can't be breathing. I want everyone I know to hear it. I use his songs often as inspiration for healing in my group sessions and in The Lupus Project. My kids love it too. Can't wait to see him in concert!
